Are you a talented Java Engineer ready to embark on a rewarding journey with a forward-thinking team? Our client, a leading player in the insurance industry, is seeking passionate individuals to join their dynamic team. This role offers a hybrid working approach – twice a week onsite in Southampton.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop internal and external systems, websites, APIs, and service layers to enhance customer experience.
  • Propose enhancements and tackle technical debt in alignment with project deadlines.
  • Collaborate with Architecture and other developers to refine ideas, write code, and create automated tests.
  • Support live applications and suggest incremental improvements to processes and tools.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in web development with extensive knowledge of Java and experience with Spring Boot for web APIs.
  • Proficiency in creating unit tests and using software management tools such as GIT, Git Hub, or Subversion.
  • Familiarity with web services (RESTful/SOAP/JSON etc.) and coding for accessibility standards.
  • Effective analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Broad understanding of both front and back-end development.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and tackling new technologies, with some knowledge of agile methodology.
