Senior Project Manager – Financial Services

We are working with one of our largest customers who are a Global leader in the financial services sector.  We are looking for a highly experienced and accomplished Senior Project Manager to join them as they embark on multi-million pound / multi year large scale tranformation project.

The Senior Project Manager role is within the Project Delivery team, reporting to the IT Portfolio Manager.

The purpose of this role is to project manage the IT aspects of a major programme of work to transform the support for the Commercial business. This will likely involve work with third parties as well as both local and global development teams. The work is complex and has a high focus from senior stakeholders. The role holder will need to be able to demonstrate an ability both to work with and understand the IT details but also position this effectively with senior business stakeholders.

Skills and experience:

  • Proven experience of managing complex IT projects ideally in a Financial Services environment – Ideally Insurance
  • Stature & gravitas to operate alongside senior stakeholders in IT and the wider Business with experience of presenting and negotiating.
  • Proven leadership skills with drive and dynamic approach to drive pace and commitment across the team and build trusted long-term relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent Knowledge of project management practices, methods and tools, with experience of delivering projects in a Scaled Agile environment
  • Project/Programme Management Certification (e.g. APMP, Prince2, SAFE, or equivalent)
  • Strong commercial acumen and business awareness. Extensive knowledge of relevant systems and processes and full understanding of potential impact of projects and the confidence and experience to provide innovative solutions and initiatives
  • Strong technology awareness (systems, technologies, development cycles)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
