Data Operations Manager

Our leading retail client based in Leeds has an opportunity for a Data Operations Manager to join their Data team at an exciting time. The data function is being transformed into the fundamental enabler at the heart of the business. Data provides the insights and information that powers key business decisions and operational processes. They envisage this being an exciting and fun time for the IT function where you will all be a central part of a key development within the business.

Role responsibilities:

* Initially instrumental in the migration of data warehouse from Netezza on-premise to the cloud . This is the first stage in the creation of a centralised and governed data warehouse that you will lead.
* You will be responsible for the effective and efficient use/ deployment of a single data platform, optimising performance and minimising costs
* As the business create more stored data procedures, (reporting, ETL/ ELT, Analysis and AI/ML) you will be responsible for ensuring systems are operational, scheduled and deliver.
* With increased app and data product creation, you will be responsible for ensuring that they are integrated into business processes and operations.
* You will be managing a team of system delivery people who need to work together to deliver to business requirements in line with cloud and source capability.

Skills required:

* This exciting role needs an energetic and enthusiastic IT data professional that is passionate about data and the value that it can bring this business.
* This person is a data advocate that brings experience of working with cloud vendors and data warehouse providers to optimise the clients data environment to forecast capability needs and optimise usage.
* You are an experienced manager that will lead the team on the transformation journey from legacy environments to the cloud.
* You will be an engaged leader, capable of bringing the team on the journey. Familiar with automation and scheduling tools/ capability you will work with source system owners to ensure data is delivered where and when it is needed.
* Working with operations teams you will ensure automation/ scheduling is correctly integrated with business processes.
* We need an articulate person that is able to understand business requirements and ensure those requirements are met. Unfazed by change, you need to operate in a challenging yet fun environment that is going through transformation.
