Head of IT Infrastructure / Chief Technology Officer

We are working in partnership with one the largest Financial Services company in the world. We have had a long standing relationship with this customer and have been tasked with helping them bring in a Head of IT Infrastructure / CTO.

JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

The Head of IT Infrastructure (local Chief Technology Officer, CTO) will lead a team of highly skilled and motivated infrastructure and security managers and experts with the accountability to operate, deliver and maintain a range of IT infrastructure services and their lifecycle. The role is instrumental to the completion of the infrastructure transformation within the global framework of the customers standardized infrastructure services. The successful candidate will deal with a dynamic business environment, as well as translating and shaping the specific local business needs to the global solutions to. This will involve the cross border business and collaboration between multiple teams working in different countries. The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 180 people, distributed across the UK and India and report directly to the Country Leader and the Regional CTO.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Manage the operations and delivery of all IT infrastructure services (e.g. network, data centre, workplace and security services)
* Manage the Service Management Processes (e.g. change, problem and incident management) in alignment with the global process standards and in close collaboration with the central service management teams and the customer
* Manage various stakeholders relationship with the client’s Global Space
* Proactively support the transformation from local services to standard services and the decommissioning of local legacy systems
* Ensure the evolution and innovation of the infrastructure supporting the business model according to the client’s standards, architecture guidelines and priorities (e.g. towards cloud infrastructure)
* Be responsible to steer cost control and improvement measures in a proactive manner
* Be responsible to make sure revenues and costs will meet the defined targets, will be managed transparently and will be reported to the controlling functions in a timely manner

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

* At least 10 years of relevant work experience which includes 5 years work experience managing IT Infrastructure
* Experience in delivering large projects (>2500 man days) with international teams
* Experience in leading multiple international and virtual teams; solid collaboration and negotiation skills to manage the complex interdependencies of multiple key stakeholders on local and group level
* Experience in demand management from the provider’s point of view and planning; budget and cost controlling and preparation for the Strategic and Planning Dialogue
* Experience in IT service delivery management, lifecycle management of IT solutions for the remaining local services
* Very good academic degree, preferably in IT, engineering or business administration; a further qualification (e.g. MBA, PhD) would be beneficial
* Very good business English (oral and written), additional language skills are highly appreciated
