Our client is a market leading company in their sector and they’re on the lookout for a Technical Consultant to work out of their office based in Newport.

You will be part of a highly skilled team in a very busy environment providing; On-going maintenance and development of the Data Centers and the associated core infrastructure and networks. You will be last line of escalation for complex escalated problems, new customer builds/installs and large projects.

You will be required to provide 3rd line support within the Infrastructure and Networks team, dealing primarily with Windows servers, VMware virtualisation technologies and other Microsoft applications.

The role demands a technically astute person, but with excellent customer facing skills. This role will require liaising with project stakeholders, senior members of the business, and maintaining relationships within the organisation.

This role involves administration of existing services as well as deployment of new infrastructure and solutions for customers.

This role attracts an ‘on call allowance’, with the candidate expected to participate with the existing rota.

Knowledge & Experience

* Active Directory administration and configuration
* Windows Server & Desktop infrastructure
* Good understanding of Local Area Networking
* Good understanding of VMware stack.
* Microsoft Exchange administration & deployment
* Microsoft PowerShell
* Experience of ITIL processes
* Technical Project Management


* NetApp / SAN experience
* Linux experience
* Shell scripting
* Nagios administration and configuration
* Microsoft SCCM
* Microsoft SharePoint
* Disaster Recovery

Must Haves

* Full UK driving licence and access to a car
* Technical problem solving
* Completion of comprehensive technical and user documentation
* Creation of technical design documents based upon business processes
* Ability to methodically isolate and resolve faults
