Interim Head of IT

West London | Hybrid 2/3 days on-site | Up to £80k per annum (Pro rata) | 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

We are seeking an experienced Interim Head of IT to join a growing organisation at an exciting stage of its technology journey. This is a hands-on leadership role for a well-rounded technology professional who can provide strategic direction while remaining close to the day-to-day operational and project requirements of the business.

The organisation currently operates with no dedicated Head of IT or on-site IT leadership, relying heavily on offshore technology teams and external partners for support. As the business continues to grow, there is a need for an experienced individual who can act as the local technology lead, drive improvements across systems and processes, and provide a clear technology roadmap for the future.

This role would suit someone with a broad technical background who is comfortable working across infrastructure, applications, third-party suppliers, business systems, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the senior technology lead for the UK business.
  • Provide leadership and oversight across all IT systems, applications, and technology services.
  • Manage relationships with offshore technology teams and third-party support providers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing systems, processes, and technology operations.
  • Lead and deliver technology projects from inception through to completion.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand operational requirements and translate them into technology solutions.
  • Support and optimise the use of core business applications, including NetSuite and associated SaaS platforms.
  • Review and improve integration processes, including EDI-related workflows.
  • Establish technology governance, best practices, and documentation where required.
  • Provide guidance on future technology investments and strategic initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience operating as a Head of IT, IT Manager, Technology Manager, or similar senior technology leadership role.
  • Broad technical knowledge across infrastructure, applications, cloud services, and business systems.
  • Strong project management experience with a proven track record of delivering technology and business change initiatives.
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers and offshore technology teams.
  • Solid understanding of ERP systems, particularly NetSuite.
  • Experience working with EDI integrations and related business processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a standalone technology leadership position.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Anaplan.
  • Experience within manufacturing, distribution, consumer goods, or supply chain-driven environments.
  • Previous experience supporting businesses through periods of growth and technology transformation.
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams and outsourced service providers.
